Redirector
A small Safari extension for teaching certain links to take the route you actually wanted.
Some links are technically correct and still not where you meant to go. Redirector lets you make local rules that catch top-level Safari page requests and quietly send them somewhere better.
A rule can be simple, like always opening Reddit on its old interface, or as particular as a regular expression with capture groups, a substitution, and an exception that should win first. Paste in a test URL and Redirector shows the result before you save it.
You can:
- redirect pages in Safari on Mac, iPhone, and iPad
- match complete URLs with regular expressions
- carry parts of the original URL into the destination with capture substitutions
- order rules by priority and add Allow / Stop exceptions
- preview a redirect and catch loops before enabling it
- grant access only to the source and destination sites each rule needs
Rules stay on the device where you created them. There is no account, analytics service, advertising system, or remote rule server waiting in the middle.
Less like changing how the web works. More like putting up tiny, extremely specific detour signs.
